Hot Water Bottles

I went to a shop the other day [Thursday] in pursuit of a hot water bottle due to the fact that it’s getting cold these days despite global warming – which appears to have stopped for winter.

Now, I won’t mention any names, but I was most disappointed with the shop I shall call ‘asda’ [asda is the not the real name of the shop – it is a fake name because the shop was Tesco – or was it?]. Upon entering the nameless establishment, I enquired the whereabouts of said item thusly:

“Good morning, or afternoon, could you direct me to the location of the hot water bottles please”.

The person I asked replied; “I don’t work here”.

Somewhat irked I went to the, so-called, enquiries desk and enquired: “Good morning, or afternoon, could you direct me to the location of the hot water bottles please”.

The person in attendance replied “Go to the third aisle and they’re half way down on the right”.

Ergo, after thanking the assistant, I proceeded to the third aisle and went half way down on the right. Lo and behold, there were hot water bottles in abundance. However, to my horror, upon examining them – they were cold.

I promptly left and shall never go there again.
