Big Ben Bell

As previously mentioned: the picture below is not of Big Ben.

Big Ben

Big Ben is the bell inside St. Stephens Tower.

The bell [Big Ben] is not working at this time. Neither is the nameless clock - it's nowt to do with me.

Unfortunately, it turns out, Big Ben is not the biggest bell in the world or even the biggest bell in London:
  • The largest bell in London is Great Paul in Saint Paul's Cathedral. It weighs 16.75 tons
  • The largest bell in the world is the Tsar Kolokol in Moscow which is 180 tons. However, it's never been rung - or even installed  because it was damaged in a fire. It's on the floor near the Kremlin wall [ergo, it's not a bell: it's a lump of metal in a car park]. The largest in use is also in Moscow and weighs 128 tons.
