CCTV fluorescent jackets

Increasingly, when you see a villain committing a crime captured on CCTV, you will note he or she is wearing a fluorescent jacket or waistcoat. This is because their limited intelligence leads them to believe they are invisible to the cameras.

The source of their misconception is the effect of the reflective effects of the fluorescent gear.  In the dark, the infra-red lighting from the cameras causes a great blob of light to be reflected rendering identification impossible.

Obviously, in daylight, where infra-red is not in use, the cloaking effect offered by the fluorescent clothing is unavailable. Try telling that to the brainless criminals. Ergo, you’ll see the miscreant in full view of the cameras thinking they are invisible – they’re not.
